Letter: Disappointed in Costello

I was very surprised and disappointed to read Sen. Mia Costello’s ADN opinion piece on a U.S. Supreme Court confirmation question. It certainly doesn’t pertain to any issue before the Alaska Senate. It read like a highly partisan, and to borrow Senator Costello’s word, “craven,” attack on U.S. Sen. Kamala Harris.

I encourage Sen. Costello to redirect her attention and energies to addressing Alaska’s fiscal gap while ensuring funding for essential state services such as pre-school, K-12, and the University of Alaska, the Alaska Marine Highway System, Medicaid, Pioneer Homes, etc. Seems like there is plenty to keep the senator busy right here in Alaska.
