Letters to the Editor

Letter: Much to appreciate

This evening, I watched the launch of SpaceX en route to the International Space Center. I Iistened to the news report about the advances being made on getting a vaccine for COVID-19.

Then I listened to all the depressing news about the recent presidential election. I found myself being drawn into the drama. I was getting depressed. I was very worried about my country.

However, I realized that there are so many good signs of life in the fabric of American culture. There is so much to be thank-filled for. I made a decision to focus how much we have to be thankful for.

I encourage you to join me in spreading realistic hope. When you meet someone who seems upset about the political landscape and thinks there is no hope, remind them about the fabulous things going on even in the midst of scary events.

Thanksgiving is coming up. Let’s give thanks that we live in the United States of America.
