Letters to the Editor

Letter: Stimulus politics

The recent article from AP titled” Lawmakers press Trump on relief bill as jobless aid expires” is, as usual, omitted the complete story surrounding the COVID-19 aid bill to villainize Pres. Trump. They combined the relief bill into the omnibus bill that gives foreign aid in the millions of dollars to countries such as Pakistan, Cambodia, Egypt, Sudan, Israel, UK, etc., as well as $33 million to Venzeula for “democracy” aid. I doubt they will spend it on that. Another $25 million is earmarked for additional salaries to Congress.

The bill should be a standalone bill with $2,000 to individuals and $4,000 per family. Period. It is a slap in the face to provide 600 bucks relief to workers who have been suffering for months. The relief bill should have passed months ago, but Nancy Pelosi could not possibly have Donald Trump “win” any points with “the people” before the election.
