Letter: Impeachment verdict

My takeaway from the Trump impeachment verdict is that individual senators shouldn’t have been allowed to invoke a defense (namely, that the president can’t be impeached as a citizen) when it had already been decided in their capacity as a lawmaking body, the full Senate, to be legal.

The impeachment verdict needs to be revisited to determine if the 43 senators were derelict in their duty; if so, the verdict must be vacated and retaken. The facts are clear and need no further evaluation or review.
