Letter: Mayor selection process

If candidates running for office can’t reply to a reasonable question that affects many city residents, then I don’t think they would put any effort into responding after they were elected.

On March 12, I sent an identical email to eight of the current Anchorage mayor candidates. Basically I asked them what they would do as mayor to keep the travel portion of Anchorage streets as wide in the winter as they are in the summer. Only three candidates responded, and each gave a sensible reply.

I offer my thanks to the other five candidates, who made no attempt to reply. They clearly made my selection process much easier.
