Letter: Mail-in ballots

First, let me admit that I was wrong: I had very serious reservations about the mail-in ballot.

But I find that I am now able to vote much more intelligently than before. I always knew the major candidates and who I wanted to vote for, but the minor folks I skipped because I just didn’t know enough about them. The mail-in ballot has given me the time to check out the School Board folks whom I didn’t know and to vote more intelligently. Ditto on the bond proposals.

I do miss going to the polling place and seeing old friends, but I like having time to check things out.
