Letters to the Editor

Letter: Advanced civilizations

I agree in principle with the recent letter by Mr. Thomas Harrison Morse on continuing the search for extra-terrestrial life. He shows faith in the assumption that beings so technically superior to humans will have advanced to a stage of high ethical respect for other life forms, and that contact would be beneficial to humans.

But in the back of my mind, I wonder if our Native Americans made the same assumptions regarding the much more highly civilized and technically advanced white visitors from beyond their known universe?
