Letters to the Editor

Letter: Homeless vs. hockey

The recent letter to the editor regarding the homeless situation in Anchorage was spot on! I do not believe they should be housed in Anchorage’s only large venue for concerts, trade shows and hockey.

This has been a rough year for everyone, and some great events would give many something to look forward to! I purchased season tickets for the Wolverines just to have some hockey back in this town. I believe that the Sullivan should be used for the purpose it was built.

I wonder if it would be possible to use the empty Northway Mall to house the homeless this winter. Could be a quick fix or a permanent one if it’s available. I surely don’t know what options there are, but I do strongly believe that the Sullivan Arena should be emptied, cleaned and renovated so we can once again enjoy special events and, yes, hockey!
