Letters to the Editor

Letter: Thanks to Jeff Lowenfels

Congratulations to Jeff Lowenfels, whose ADN gardening column is the longest-running such column in the country, earning him a five-page article in the Aug. 1 New York Times magazine — which ran along with a five-page article on Matt Damon.

The article traced changes in Lowenfels’ philosophy, opinions and advice about gardening in Anchorage, including how his careful, ongoing record-keeping has shown how rapidly global warming and climate change have altered plant life in Alaska — from tomatoes to trees.

Thank you, Jeff for being a valuable resource for Anchorage gardeners, and for representing Alaska in such a good light.
