Letter: Thanks to the younger generation

Hello, and a big thanks to my fellow Alaskans. I’m a 73 year old woman and drove to Alaska in 1988 by myself to start a new life. Alaska has been so good me. Met my husband of 33 years through the “singles” ads. I’m now by myself, but just wanted to express my thanks to our younger generation.

The other day when I was at the grocery store, I couldn’t get my old car started, so I went back into the store and asked if there might be someone who could give me a ride home. A young man named Wesley came forward and said he’d do it. And so he did. Thank you, Alaskans, for being the wonderful people you are. You’re just the best!
