Letter: Ready for a recall

Every person who takes a new position is entitled to a fair probationary period in which to demonstrate that he or she can learn the job and has the skills and attitude needed to succeed. This pertains especially to those who come into that job lacking adequate training and experience.

Unfortunately, the new mayor has not shown us either the skills nor a productive and unifying approach. He won the job by the thinnest of margins and immediately set about trying to transform moderate, bipartisan Anchorage into a corrupt radical far-right utopia. He has failed on almost every level, but in doing so, he has degraded the city’s quality of life, stoked political divisions, violated the law and forced several good people out of their jobs. If anyone is circulating recall petitions, I’m ready to sign.
