Letter: Library director update

Wait, what? Didn’t we just embark on a “worldwide” search for a qualified library director? Not municipality-wide, statewide or nationwide, but worldwide? And now, a month later, it’s time to dumb down the qualifications so that pretty much anyone with a college degree and some supervisory experience is qualified to serve? What happened?

OK, I realize City Hall has always been somewhat of an echo chamber for left- or right-wing lunacy, but this is just a bad look. And on the heels of the resignations and the lawsuits and the fluoride over these past few months?  What’s next? Do our sister cities decide to divorce us and the administrative response is to head out on a “worldwide” search for new ones — only to come back a few weeks later and dumb down the minimum qualifications so that, let’s see, Wasilla can meet the standard for recognition?

Guess what? This clown car has officially left the roadway and it’s now in the ditch, probably for good. Good luck on the worldwide search for a tow truck that can respond. Meanwhile, I’d retire that “worldwide search” thing from future Bronson public information updates.
