Now that Sen. Lisa Murkowski has been blacklisted by the governor and the increasingly reactionary Alaska GOP, she has been handed a golden opportunity to help rebuild the party as “loyal opposition” rather than the “scorched earth” group of haters and deniers it has become.
Sen. Murkowski, as one who has little to lose by bucking GOP intransigence, could show the integrity and leadership needed to loosen Trump’s stranglehold on the party. Support for the John Lewis Voting Rights Act would be a start.
