While I am totally in favor of the “hold harmless” provision in the budget, any story about the amount of the total cost of the annual Permanent Fund dividend expenditure must include the fact that the state also must pay hundreds of millions of additional dollars to “hold harmless” the families and individuals on public assistance who otherwise would lose their benefits for a couple of months because of the sudden infusion of cash from the PFD. I think your stories should include that additional expense.
