Letters to the Editor

Letter: Trump’s motivation

I see our twice impeached, one-term ex-president currently under several active state and federal investigations has announced his run for the presidency in 2024, just weeks after the midterms, more than a year before the first primary and against the preference of his party.

An understandable choice for him. He can now declare all legal challenges to be political persecution, begin raising untraceable PAC money immediately for his legal defense, and have maximum platform time to tell the country how bad it is, lie about his accomplishments and air his grievances.

I consider it understandable that Donald Trump could be acting with criminal intent after he has previously publicly stated his opinion that only criminals plead the Fifth Amendment, then took the Fifth hundreds of times under oath himself when questioned by the New York attorney general investigating the Trump Organization.
