Letter: Costly retreat

The State of Alaska paid out a very hefty Permanent Fund dividend to Alaskans last fall. Education continues to struggle financially. While reading the ADN on Jan. 15, I came across a story that said, in part, “Fifteen of the 17 caucus members met in Girdwood earlier this month …” and " Gov. Mike Dunleavy met with members of the caucus at their Girdwood retreat …” At what expense? Why didn’t the caucus retreat at that big building on Minnesota Drive that they had to have?
