Letter: Not a ‘global’ fan

Alaska USA changing its moniker to “Global” is insulting. It implies an impersonal mega-corporation that cares nothing for its constituents, just its global bottom line. I, like others, will make every effort to shut down my account as soon as is practical.

If Alaska USA’s CEO thinks “global” adds charisma to his credit union’s mark, he is sadly out of tune with the times. Why doesn’t he move over to a grain consortium or dog food — something that doesn’t involve people? Commodities are a good fit.
