I don’t know why I’m surprised that our state legislators gave themselves a big fat pay raise, but I am. They gave themselves their big fat pay raises at the expense of the honorable citizens of the state, and they cut the amount of the Permanent Fund dividend.
If I’m not mistaken, quite a few people in our state count on that money to help them get through the hard times.
And believe me, the hard times are here.
