Now that the Alaska Legislature has finished its 2023 session, I am grateful for a balanced budget, more money for education, and a decent-sized Permanent Fund dividend. I hope that Gov. Dunleavy will sign the budget without any line-item vetoes.
I am also thankful that the Legislature did not pass HB 105 or other regressive, discriminatory bills. Considering what they had to work with, legislators made many good decisions in the time they had in Juneau. Thank you!
