This is a question without an answer.
Alaska became a state in 1959. That equates to 64 years of experience in providing snow control and removal. Why is it that the present state and municipality leadership are unable to meet the demand and respond adequately? Certainly not for lack of experience.
Perhaps it is the current Republican state and municipality leadership stripping away talent and capacity (funding).
Whatever it is, neither administration is meeting my expectations, even as I have lowered my expectations due to the reality of heavy snow events and the extra work that is required. My feeling: “Shape up or ship out.”
