Letter: Education funding fiasco

The Anchorage School District faces a $95 million funding shortfall for education.

I’m sitting here astonished to think that Gov. Mike Dunleavy vetoed $87 million in education funding. He is a phony. He professes to be the pro-education governor; that is laughable.

There are more than 300 vacancies in the district. Why would anyone bring a young family to this state? The quality of education has diminished to the lowest level. It’s not because of the dedicated educators who have a passion for teaching — it’s Dunleavy. He should have been ousted long ago. Now we continue to suffer the consequences. This fiasco is heartbreaking!
