Anchorage Rep. LeDoux agrees to shut down PAC until complaint is resolved

The Alaska Public Offices Commission decided Thursday to delay consideration of a fundraising complaint filed by state Democrats against Anchorage Republican Rep. Gabrielle LeDoux over her new political action committee and her belief it could legally collect money from lobbyists.

LeDoux said she and the Democrats agreed that until the complaint is resolved, she will stop the fundraising that drew the party's objections: using "Gabby's Tuesday PAC," the PAC she controls, to accept donations from lobbyists who are otherwise barred from contributing to individual legislative campaigns.

After being informed of the agreement, the APOC decided at a special Thursday meeting that it would not give "expedited consideration" to the Democrats' complaint. Instead, the agency is expected to consider the complaint under its normal timeline. LeDoux said she expected the matter to resolved in about two weeks.
