Anchorage legislators host public meeting on Dunleavy budget vetoes Tuesday

A group of Democratic legislators from Anchorage will host a listening session on Gov. Mike Dunleavy’s budget vetoes at the Legislative Information Office in Anchorage Tuesday afternoon.

In a Facebook event, the lawmakers say this will be an opportunity to “share your thoughts" on the budget vetoes from 5-7 p.m. The LIO is located at 1500 W. Benson Blvd. People can call in to give comment at 907-563-9085 (844-586-9085 outside Anchorage).

Members of “Save Our State," a coalition of Alaska activists, are planning to protest the budget cuts during the first hour of the the session.

As of Monday evening, more than 165 Facebook users had responded, saying they would attend.
