VIDEO: U.S. House hopefuls pitch to resource development groups at candidate forum

In one of the first in-person events of this year’s special U.S. House election in Alaska, nine of the leading candidates met at a forum Thursday in Anchorage hosted by groups from the state’s oil and gas, mining, construction and other industries.

Republicans Sarah Palin, John Coghill, Josh Revak, Tara Sweeney and Nick Begich, independents Al Gross and Jeff Lowenfels and Democrats Chris Constant and Mary Peltola all met at the forum at Anchorage’s convention hall. The event was sponsored by the Alaska Chamber, the Alaska Miners Association, the Alaska Oil and Gas Association, the Alaska Support Industry Alliance, the Associated General Contractors of Alaska and the Resource Development Council.
