Alaska Republicans name 3 potential replacements for Wasilla senator

Alaska Republicans selected two local party officials and a current state representative as possible replacements for Mike Dunleavy, the GOP senator from Wasilla who resigned this month to focus on his run for governor.

Gov. Bill Walker is now expected to choose one of the three: Sutton Republican Rep. George Rauscher and two local GOP officials, Tom Braund and Todd Smoldon.

GOP officials from Dunleavy's Senate district selected the three from a list of a dozen applicants at a meeting late Monday.
