Alaska lawmakers meeting in Juneau are considering whether to override Gov. Mike Dunleavy’s $444 million in budget vetoes. A joint session of the House and Senate members gathered in Juneau — generally in favor of the override — was scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Wednesday. Meanwhile, a smaller group of legislators — generally opposed to the override — continue to gather in Wasilla. They are not in session and cannot vote, so there isn’t the required three-fourths majority in Juneau to override the vetoes.
