Similar to the "all-time" quarterback in pickup football games, the annual Christmas Pond Hockey Classic features one goaltender per game.

When the puck changes hands, the team in possession of it takes it back to the blue line before going on the attack and firing mercilessly at the same goalie who was protecting the net for them moments before.

Despite an unforgiving format and cold weather, the goalies were all smiles Saturday at the Bonnie Cusack Outdoor Ice Rinks for the fundraiser hockey tournament, which benefits Toys for Tots.
