Photos: Kilian Jornet joins Alaska's Mount Marathon discussion

Kilian Jornet, widely considered the world's best all-around mountain runner, will make his Mount Marathon debut Saturday in the 88th edition of the race up and down the 3,022-footer in Seward.

The 27-year-old Spaniard on Monday appeared at Skinny Raven in downtown Anchorage, where he signed autographs, mixed easily with fans and took part in a panel discussion.

The panel also included Emelie Forsberg of Sweden, Jornet's girlfriend and also a world-class mountain runner; Rickey Gates, who owns the second-fastest time in Mount Marathon history; Matias Saari of Anchorage, the 2009 Mount Marathon champion and 2104 runner-up; and host Mark Iverson.
