Learn to row with our Junior team in an 8 person sweep rowing shell (this is where you have one 13-foot oar and you are either a port or a starboard). The class/camp starts with a mandatory pool/safety/technique training at the Dimond High pool on Saturday, May 30, from 9-11 a.m. Following the pool training, this class will meet for a weeklong Junior camp, from Monday, June 1, to Friday, June 5, daily from 3-5 p.m. at our Sand Lake facility. New York Red Bulls Soccer Camp

Train with a professional coaching staff from the New York Red Bulls. Exceptional skills training in a fun environment. All participants receive Red Bull tee and ball.

Alaska Airlines College ID Soccer Camp

Twelve college coaches provide high-level training and recruit Alaska players. Join nearly 150 of the top high school players in the state for a great week.

Jump into summer fun at the Jump Shot Basketball Camp. A fun and fantastic coaching staff heads up the annual Jump Shot Basketball Camp this summer. The camp is open to boys and girls with a focus on "FUN" Damentals. Camp tuition includes a T-shirt, new basketball, end-of-camp BBQ and fun.

South Anchorage High School Volleyball Camps

Wolverine camps teach up-to-date volleyball technique and skills and builds confidence in a positive atmosphere. Join us in the pursuit of honor, pride and tradition that South camps have to offer this summer and have some fun.

The Alaskanette Baton Corps is a non-profit youth sports organization teaching the art and sport of baton twirling in Anchorage and the Mat-Su Valley. We'll be offering beginner classes for school age youth in six-week sessions, with a one-hour weekly lesson. Each session includes instruction in and perfection of basic twirls, dance steps, marching, work with a prop (ribbon stick, flag baton, poms and more), and one routine that may later be performed in competitions or Alaskanette performances.

This is an opportunity for kids to experience several different martial art forms. Taught by qualified instructors in a fun and non-competitive environment. No experience is necessary. Students will be introduced to Shotokan Karate, Seibukan Jujutsu, Judo and radKIDS self-defense.

This is a multi-sport camp for kids looking to play and learn multiple sports. Sports include: Baseball, basketball, flag football, soccer, lacrosse, dodgeball and other games. No experience necessary.

These camps are designed to enhance your baseball skills and are presented by members of the Glacier Pilots' 2015 team and coaching staff. You will learn how to improve your hitting, pitching, catching and fielding abilities. You will also get some helpful hints on sportsmanship.Bring your glove and your enthusiasm.

SPYDER (Sports Programs for Youth Development, Education and Recreation) offers fun recreational soccer for kids and is in its 23rd year run 100 percent by volunteers. Low cost, high fun and participation. Held at Trailside and Service fields every Monday/Wednesday night. The only program of its type in Alaska. Co-ed and simple for family ease. You can miss days and enjoy Alaska summer but still be part of a team. Kids can select friends and neighbors to play with. Includes jersey, awards, end of season party, porta potties, etc. Parents involved and lots of fun for families. Two nights a week. No weekends.

Sponsor: American Legion Baseball and Alaska Airlines

This is the 15th annual camp, designed for beginners to more advanced players. Activities included are fundamentals of the game, hitting and smart throwing. Players are grouped by age, and various activities take place designed to help build skills for enjoyment for baseball and softball. Other activities include conditioning and technique building. Lots of qualified instruction and supervision for all campers. Attend individual sessions or attend all three days for $95 total. Play on the a field/turf infield, and use on-site batting cages and bullpens. More information and forms can be downloaded online.

This is a climbing and activity camp for kids. No experience required. Sub-groups within the main camp group are available to accommodate ability and age differences. Low instructor to participant ratio. Ongoing curriculum of skill and strength development for return and experienced campers. Liability waiver, signed by a parent or legal guardian, required. Waivers may be downloaded from the website.

Join an established Anchorage swim club for summer fun and swim skills development. Practice times are 4-5:30 p.m. Monday and Wednesday. Lessons will be offered for new swimmers after coach assessment. Swim lessons will be 5-5:30 p.m. each practice day. Space is limited.

Age or grade level: Ages 7-18; younger if doing lessons only

Dates: June 1-July 31

Where: Mosley Sports Center, Alaska Pacific University

Cost: $200/two-month session of practices. Lessons are $12/each, eight minimum.


Service High School's Summer Volleyball Camp

Sponsor: Lady Cougar Volleyball Booster Club

Our volleyball camp welcomes beginners and experienced volleyball players and is hosted by Service High School coaches Jim Povolo, Steve Thompson, Roxie Knight and Molly Carr. The camp is limited to 50 players, first come, first served. Camp cost includes volleyball instruction, camp t-shirt and healthy snacks. Campers should bring kneepads, shorts, court shoes, outdoor shoes for beach volleyball (weather permitting), water bottle and additional snacks. Bump. Set. Spike it. That's the way we like it.
