Palmer bodybuilder Daugherty takes pro title at state championships

Caine Daugherty of Palmer won the pro bodybuilding title Saturday at the 34th Annual ABFF/GNC Alaska State Natural Bodybuilding, Fitness, Figure, Bikini & Physique Championships.

Daugherty beat Sean Coleman of San Diego during the competition at East High.

William Holmes of Clarksville, Tennessee, collected overall titles in two categories – physique and amateur bodybuilding.

The overall bikini title went to Kristina Barnes of Anchorage.

Bodybuilding

Overall men — William Holmes (Clarksville, Tennessee). Women – Rachel Oswald (Anchorage). Junior Men – 1) Aidan Blessing (Anchorage). Novice Men – 1) George Stapleton (Kodiak). Masters Men – 1) Cecil Martin (Anchorage). Lightweight Men – 1) Holmes. Heavyweight Men – 1) DeMonte Berkley (JBER); 2) George Stapleton (Kodiak); 3) Dan Socha (Fairbanks). Pro division – 1) Caine Daugherty (Palmer); 2) Sean Coleman (San Diego).

Figures

Overall women — Sequoya Joseph. 35 & over — 1. Amy Green (Palmer). Under 5-4 – 1) Joseph; 2) Justine Mackey (Anchorage).

Physiques

Overall men — Holmes. Women – 1) Joseph; 2) Oswald. Novice men – 1) Scotty Daletas (Girdwood). Men 35 & over — 1) Martin. Men 5-8 and over – 1) Holmes.

Bikini

Overall — Kristina Barnes (Anchorage). Novice — 1) Emily Anderson (Anchorage); 2) Tonya Vanderpool (Wasilla); 3) Katelyn Johnson (Anchorage); 4) Ashley Lutes (Anchorage). 35 and over – 1) Amanda Vogus (Anchorage); 2) Lutes. Under 5-4 — 1) Lisa Brunsvold (Anchorage); 2) Johnson; 3) Vogus. 5-4 and over — 1) Barnes; 2) Anderson.
