Dryland dog mushing began Saturday with bikejor, scooter and canicross races

The Chugiak Dog Mushers Association's fall season began Saturday with Jane Heisel's team taking the victory in the 1-dog bikejor in 5 minutes, 46 seconds and Ben Schneider's team winning the two-dog bikejor in 5:28.

Racers competed in bikejor, scooter and canicross races. All races were 1.81 miles.

CDMA will also be hosting two preliminary races Sept. 16-17 and a two-day championship race in October.
