Anchorage runner Anna Dalton shared the podium with the 2018 Boston Marathon champion Saturday at the Akron Half Marathon in Akron, Ohio.

Dalton captured second place in the 13.1-mile race, finishing more than a minute ahead of third-place Des Linden, whose 2018 victory in Boston made her the first American woman to win that race in 33 years.

Taking the win Saturday was Sarah Horbol of Minneapolis with a time of 1 hour, 18 minutes, 30 seconds. Dalton clocked 1:21:03 and Linden, a two-time Olympic marathoner, finished in 1:22:15.

All three women have qualified for next year’s Olympic marathon trials. Of the three, Linden boasts the top qualifying time of 2:27:00. Horbol qualified with a time of 2:42:58 and Dalton made it with a time of 2:44:24.
