The Alaska Aces are enjoying quite a roll, with points in eight consecutive games — they've gone 6-0-2 in that stretch, which most recently included a win (Wednesday), overtime loss (Friday) and shootout loss (Saturday) on the road at Idaho.
What's even more impressive in the Aces' 14 seasons in the ECHL is that an eight-game point streak doesn't even crack the franchise's Top 12 in that regard.
The club-record point streak belongs to the 2005-06 team, the one that seized the first of the franchise's three Kelly Cups. That crew reeled off a 16-game point streak (15-0-1).
The Aces also have fashioned four 13-game point streaks, the best being a 12-0-1 run by the 2012-13 club. And the 2011-12 team reeled off two 13-game point streaks (11-0-2 and 10-0-3).
Meanwhile, this current edition of the Aces owns a five-game road point streak (3-0-2), and yet that doesn't crack the Top 7 (why Top 7, you ask? Because I'm the dude that compiles this stat-nerd stuff, and Top 7 is what I've got on hand — work with me, folks).
In any event, that 2011-12 club racked the franchise's longest road point streak of 12 games (7-0-5).
