Sivak and Perfetto pack a wicked 1-2 scoring punch for the Alaska Aces

Alaska Aces linemates Peter Sivak and Stephen Perfetto, who have tortured ECHL goaltenders all season, own numbers that brand them as the circuit's top dynamic duo.

As the Aces prepare to open a five-game road trip with Wednesday night's game at Tulsa, veteran right winger Sivak leads the league in goals and points with 20-16—36 totals in 22 games. He also leads the league in multiple-point games (13) and multiple-goal games (5). Plus, he's coming off a three-game series in which he delivered 5-4—9 totals, and he's furnished 13 goals in the last 10 games.

Perfetto, Sivak's center, is no slouch either. Despite missing six games while on his first promotion to the American Hockey League, the second-year pivot ranks third in the league in points with 12-18—30 totals in 16 games. He's tied for second in the ECHL in multiple-point games (10), stands second in multiple-goal games (4) and leads the league in points per game (1.88).

Perfetto in last weekend's three-game series against visiting and league-leading Toledo — the Aces came away with shootout loss, a win and a loss — racked 5-3—8 totals.

In 22 games — and remember, Perfetto was absent for six of those — Sivak or Perfetto, and often both, have had a hand in 43 of Alaska's 80 goals, or nearly 54 percent of its goals.

The Aces have occasionally lacked secondary scoring, though center Tim Coffman (9-14—23 totals in 22 games), winger Tim Wallace (7-13—20 in 22 games) and center Danny Moynihan (7-6—13 in 21 games) have pitched in. Tyler Ruegsegger has also scored five goals in 14 games.

Alaska received an addition to its roster Tuesday when the Vancouver Canucks assigned rookie forward Yan-Pavel Laplante to the club from Utica of the AHL. Laplante didn't have a point in 11 games with the Comets. Last season in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, the former third-round pick of the Arizona Coyotes put up 34-31—65 totals in 63 games.

Alaska's game in Tulsa marks a return home of sorts for goaltender Kevin Carr, who played his first two pro seasons for the Oilers before the Aces acquired him in an offseason trade.
