— San Diego's 4-2 victory Wednesday evening snapped the Goldpanners' nine-game Midnight Sun Game win streak. The annual game, played without artificial lights on the summer solstice, began at 9:55 p.m. and ended at 12:18 a.m.

— Anyone attending a Mat-Su Miners home game this season can get in for free with a jar of peanut butter. On Friday night only, a jar of peanut butter will also get you into the Peninsula Oilers' game against the Pilots. The peanut butter goes to food banks in each community.

— Fairbanks is hosting the San Diego Waves this week. The Waves are led by general manager Mike Studer of Fairbanks and feature 2016 South High grad Parker Johnson.
