— The Alaska Baseball League regular season wraps up Tuesday. The top four teams will compete in the playoffs, which begins Wednesday.

— The Mat-Su Miners are selling tickets at their regular-season home finale Tuesday for a "Lungs for Linda" fundraiser softball game and home run derby. The event is 2 p.m. Sunday, August 6 at 501 N. Gulkana Street. Linda Hall and family are looking to raise $25,000 on their GoFundMe page for a double lung transplant operation.

Linda's husband, Dixon, painted the Miners player vans for free, and has been to many Mat-Su games over the years.

"Dixon's always been there for us," said Mat-Su Miners general manager Pete Christopher. "We felt like we needed to be there for him."
