Karoush Partow won a pair of sled dog races Saturday in wet conditions at the Beach Lake Trails in Chugiak.
Partow claimed victory in the 6-dog and 8-dog senior races on the first to two scheduled days of the Chugiak Dog Mushers Association's Eagle River Classic. The races were the first the club has held this season, which has been derailed by warm, largely snowless conditions.
Other winners included Pam Schamber in the 4-dog class and Michael Tetzner in the open class. Mackenzie Barnhardt won the junior race.
