Flag football: Dimond, South roll

South 33, Chugiak 0

Sabrina Ungaro opened her senior season of flag football in impression fashion Saturday, returning two of her four interceptions for touchdowns in a 33-0 CIC win over Chugiak.

Ungaro, whose defensive touchdowns came on returns of 32 and 20 yards, also rushed for a 20-yard touchdown.

The Wolverines other touchdowns came from Callie Orizotta and McKenzie Smith. Both scored on three-yard runs.

Dimond 31, West 0

Dimond junior Malia Lyken scored all five Lynx touchdowns in a 31-0 season-opening flag football win over West on Saturday at Dimond High.

Lyken rushed for 154 yards on 14 carries and also had an interception on defense. All of her scores came on the ground.

Nikki Forrey added 68 yards on 11 carries for Dimond, which won its 35th game in a row. Neno Martinez also had an interception for the two-time defending Cook Inlet Conference champions.
