Juneau drops a pair of American Legion games in Chugiak

A visiting Juneau Post 25 team dropped a pair of American Legion games Monday at Oberg Field – Chugiak Post 33 earned a 3-2 win and Eagle River downed Juneau 6-4.

Chugiak edged Juneau despite getting just two hits.

Juneau, which committed six errors, took a 2-0 lead in the second inning before Chugiak tied it with two runs in the fourth. Chugiak then plated one run in the fifth inning.

Cody Curfman had a hit and an RBI for Chugiak.

Gus Swanton had two of Juneau's four hits and he pitched all six innings.

Against Eagle River, Juneau took a 4-2 lead through the top of the sixth, but the Wolves rallied for four runs in the bottom of the inning.

Peter Kott went 3 for 3 and stole five bases for Eagle River, which got a pair of hits from R.J. Dirscherl.

Swanton, Matt Cunningham and Jacob Thibodeau had two hits apiece for Juneau.
