Small-school spikers battle at Lumen Christi

Ninilchik and Dillingham each won two matches Thursday during the first day of action in the Can You Dig It! volleyball tournament at Anchorage's Lumen Christi.

The tournament is a three-day event featuring 16 small-school teams from across Alaska, from Unalaska to Tok, from Mat-Su to the Peninsula.

Thursday served up 14 pool-play games, with more scheduled for Friday beginning at 9 a.m. On Saturday, teams will be divided into two eight-team brackets, the final match of the consolation bracket scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m. and the final match of the championship bracket scheduled for 5 p.m.
