A two-time Olympian is joining the UAA cross-country ski team.

Sara Studebaker, a biathlete from Idaho, will be the team's assistant coach, UAA announced Thursday.

Studebaker competed in the 2010 and 2014 Olympic Games and on three U.S. world championship teams. She was also a member of Dartmouth College's ski team that won an NCAA title in 2007.

"Sara understands what it takes to compete and succeed on the biggest stage," UAA head coach Sparky Anderson said in a news release.

Studebaker, who has trained in Anchorage, said she's honored to join UAA's program and looks forward to working with its athletes.

"I am eager to help them succeed both on and off the trails," she said in a written statement.
