Su Valley claims Lumen Christi Spiketacular volleyball crown

Led by four all-tournament selections, the Su Valley Rams captured the championship of the Lumen Christi Spiketacular volleyball tournament Saturday in Anchorage.

Su Valley took down Dillingham 25-18, 2-13 in the championship match of the 16-team tournament.

In the consolation bracket, Lumen Christi won the title match with a 25-23, 27-25 squeaker over Tok.

Cordova's Leigha Peebles was named the tournament MVP.

Representing Su Valley on the all-tournament team were Gabby Faurot, Kiana Schorr, Deborah Johnston and Ruby Matthews.

Other selections included Kiara Villmor, Kaye Gumera and K Orteza of Unalaska, Amanda Wygant and Nikki Friendshuh of Kenny Lake, Katie Moore and Emily McArthur of Dillingham, Chiamaka Lebechi of Lumen Christi, Riley Butler of Cordova and Juliana Biegel of Holy Rosary Academy.
