Prep volleyball: West rallies to defeat East in five sets

West 3, East 2

Brooke Dexter racked up 15 kills, Kelsey Ross handed out 40 assists and West beat East in five sets in the closest Cook Inlet Conference volleyball match Wednesday.

The Eagles won the final two sets to clinch the victory 25-21, 23-15, 23-15, 25-21, 15-10 at East.

Rosie Rush (13 kills, 8 digs) also contributed for West.

East was led by Daisy Page, who tallied 14 kills, five aces and 19 digs.

Morgan Zinn added 23 digs and Celia Sheppard dished out 39 assists for the Thunderbirds.

Dimond 3, Service 0

The Dimond volleyball team overpowered Service in three sets Wednesday 25-14, 25-11, 25-13 in a CIC match at Service.

Senior middle blocker Brynn Sulte led Dimond with nine kills and three blocks.

Senior setter Teuila Lolotai added 16 assists and nine digs, and junior libero Maya Carle chipped in 21 digs.

Service was spearheaded by two seniors on Senior Day. Outside hitter Justice Noa supplied five kills and libero Brooklynn Jones tallied eight digs.

Chugiak 3, Eagle River 0

Emily Moorhead registered 11 kills and two aces, and Chugiak swept Eagle River in a CIC volleyball match Wednesday at Eagle River.

The Mustangs won 25-19, 25-12, 25-15.

Karlie Jones added eight kills, eight digs and three aces for the Mustangs. Rebekah Henckel provided 10 digs and two aces.

South 3, Bartlett 0

Savannah Davis and the South volleyball team downed Bartlett in three sets.

Davis led the Wolverines with 12 kills in the 25-21, 27-25, 25-19 win Wednesday at Bartlett.

Madi Colbern (7 kills) and Ashton Jessee (7 kills, 2 blocks) also contributed for South.

Bartlett received a boosts from Leanna Atafua (24 assits, 11 digs), Kendra Camell (10 kills) and Julia Tosi (10 digs).
