Chugiak 51, Palmer 40
Chugiak overcame an 11-point deficit in the second half to defeat Palmer 51-40 Thursday in a nonconference boys basketball game in Chugiak.
Tyler Trevino led the Mustangs with 16 points and six assists. Jason Lombard scored eight of his 12 points in the second half to power the comeback.
Clayton Southwick led Palmer with a game-high 24 points and 10 rebounds.
West splits in Sitka
The West boys rolled to victory and the West girls suffered defeat Thursday at the Holiday Shootout tournament in Sikta.
Joey Barranco poured in 20 points and Deven Jackson added 17 to fuel West's 72-49 win over the Wrangell boys.
The West girls fell 47-39 to Bristol Bay. A pair of sisters sparked the Angels — Anna Hanson netted a game-high 28 points and Sharon Hanson added 15.
Alex Bowan led West with 10 points.
