Dimond, South to meet in girls soccer state championship

Neither Dimond nor South has allowed a goal through two rounds of play in the state soccer tournament, but that will change Saturday afternoon.

The Lynx and Wolverines will face each other for the state championship at 3:30 p.m. at Service High.

To get there, the Lynx blanked West 2-0 in the semifinals and South shut out Juneau 4-0 in Friday semifinals games.

Kelsey Eagle scored both goals for the Lynx, each coming on a set piece. Dimond is the defending state champion.

Jordan Foraker (2 goals, 1 assist) and Katie Lulay (1 goals, 2 assists) boosted South. Erin McLeod earned the shutout for the Wolverines.
