Defense rules on flag football’s opening day

Bartlett 18, Chugiak 0

Bartlett quarterback Aiyanna Lauofo ran for two scores and passed for another in Bartlett's 18-0 flag football win over Chugiak in the first game of the season.

Lauofo rushed for two touchdowns of 30 or more yards and added a passing TD to freshman Sunny Bowlin-Stacy, who also tallied an interception in the Thursday game at Bartlett.

Dimond 6, East 0

Makenna Boring led a stingy Lynx defense with nine flag pulls, three for loss, in Dimond's 6-0 CIC win over East on Thursday at Dimond.

Victoria Johansen caught a one-yard touchdown pass for the only score of the game.

Boring added 10 carries for 84 yards and Kristine Cristobal tallied 17 carries for 105 yards for the Lynx.

Tatum Epperson piled up 10 flag pulls for East.

Service 8, South 7

Service edged South 8-7 in its opening-day CIC win at South.

Quarterback Katie Pearce went 5 of 12 for 53 yards and one touchdown passing and rushed 10 times for 119 yards to lead the Cougars.

Service's Gabby Brock nabbed four flag pulls and Stephanie Fontaine garnered an interception and defended two passes.
