Prep volleyball: Wins for Dimond, Chugiak, West

Dimond 3, East 0

Dimond used a strong defensive effort to sweep East in Cook Inlet Conference volleyball action Tuesday.

Three Lynx racked up double-digit digs and Dimond reeled off eight team blocks to take the win 25-14, 25-9, 25-18.

Dimond was bolstered by Alissa Pili (8 kills, 12 digs), Hahni Johnson (21 assists, 10 digs) and Madde Shockey (2 solo blocks, 3 block assists).

East was led by Nyanuer Bidit (7 kills), Daisy Page (13 digs) and Morgan Zinn (13 digs).

Chugiak 3, Service 1

After dropping the first set, Chugiak came back to win the next three and defeat Service 21-25, 25-15, 25-22, 25-17 in a CIC volleyball match at Service.

Chugiak was paced by Sophia Lestina (18 kills, 26 digs), Sam Harris (7 kills, 3 blocks) and Malia Mortensen (34 digs).

Autumn Monkelien propelled the Cougars with 11 kills, 12 digs and three aces. Kenzie Bowman added eight kills and three blocks and Megan Matthews provided 20 assists for Service.

West 3, South 2

The West volleyball team beat South in five sets Tuesday behind nine kills and eight blocks from Danika Brown.

The Eagles won 25-19, 25-16, 16-25, 15-25, 15-9 in the match at West.

West's Jackie Suka added nine kills and 14 digs and Kesley Ross contributed 42 assists, 10 digs and three aces.

Emilye Grace Williams (22 kills, 6 blocks), Zoey Keene (32 assists) and Makenna Besch (5 blocks) led South.
