Hunter Harr’s hot hand helps Mustangs capture tournament title

A red-hot Hunter Harr carried the Chugiak Mustangs past Ketchikan 73-57 in the championship game of the O'Brady's Invitational boys basketball tournament at South High.

Harr poured in 28 points on 10 of 13 shooting from the field. He was particularly deadly from 3-point range, where he sank seven of eight attempts.

Ty Carlos scored 13 points and Adam Huffman added 11 for Chugiak. Ketchikan got a boost from Kristian Pihl's 16 points.

The title game was preceded by three tightly contested games, including a double-overtime contest between Lathrop and Bartlett.

Lathrop beat the Golden Bears 61-58 despite a huge double-double from Bartlett's Leroy Manogiamani, who racked up 21 points and 22 rebounds.

Chateau Reed's 15 points and Andrew West's 11 rebounds led the Malemutes. The game was tied 49-49 after regulation and 52-52 after the first overtime.

In other games, Wasilla edged Bethel 65-61 and West Valley held off tournament host South 65-58.

Wasilla flourished behind Reilly Devine's 20 points and 11 rebounds and Daniel Headings' 20 points and nine rebounds. Clevon Constantine scored 19 points for Bethel.

West Valley's Chancellor Fields-Colbert and Cornelius Mingo netted 18 points apiece in the win over South, which got 18 points from Steffano Orbase.
