Chris Crespo pitched a six-inning no-hitter Saturday for the West Eagles, striking out 10 and walking none to lead the Eagles to an 11-0 Cook Inlet Conference baseball victory over East.
Sterling Wanamaker was 3 for 4 with two runs and one RBI, and Sam Joling drove in two runs in support of Crespo.
Crespo retired the first 14 batters before East's Zack Barnhart reached on catcher's interference. He didn't get a chance to go for a complete-game no-hitter because the game ended an inning early due to the mercy rule.
In other games Saturday, Chugiak turned back Eagle River 5-1, Dimond beat Bartlett 22-0 and South blanked Service 10-0.
Chugiak scored three of its five runs on sacrifice flies. The Mustangs got seven hits from seven different players and five RBIs from five different players. Eagle River's Sterling Retzlaff was the game's only player with two hits.
Dimond's Quinn Bates-Janigo racked up four of his team's 19 hits, drove in three runs and scored twice against Bartlett. Kyler Maisey and Conor Bates-Janigo combined for nine strikeouts for the Lynx, and each gave up one hit in the five-inning game.
South's Josh Costello delivered four hits and four RBIs to help propel his team past Service. Terren Sugita struck out four, walked four and allowed one hit in five innings to get the pitching victory.
