Prep volleyball: Sweeps for West, South, Dimond, Service

West 3, Eagle River 0

Brooke Dexter's red-hot hitting performance ignited West in a 25-21, 25-21, 25-18 win over Eagle River in Friday night volleyball action in the Cook Inlet Conference.

Dexter posted a .560 attack percentage while smashing 15 kills. The Eagles also got solid efforts from Alize Taliauli (6 kills, 2 aces, 10 digs), Kelsey Ross (13 assists, 6 digs) and Savrina Paul (10 assists, 2 aces).

Leading the way for Eagle River were Emma Gilliland (8 kills) and Kaylee Barch (16 digs, 4 aces).

South 3, Bartlett 0

Eight kills apiece from Sarina Gribbin and Cami Houser carried the South Wolverines past Bartlett 25-20, 25-16, 25-20.

Makenna Besch had a big match for South with five blocks and four kills, and Anna McGrath added 13 digs and an ace.

Leanne Atafua's three kills, three aces, one block, 10 digs and 10 assists sparked Bartlett, which was also led by Natasha Honey Togaga'e (6 kills, 8 digs, 2 aces, 1 block), Violett Togaga'e (3 kills, 13 digs, 1 block) and Amourette Phinney (2 kills, 1 ace, 1 block).

Dimond 3, Chugiak 0

Dimond didn't miss a single serve in a 25-11, 25-9, 25-18 victory over Chugiak.

Hahni Johnson and Reilly Plumhoff each served four aces and Alissa Pili added three to lead the Lynx at the service line.

Pili also provided 14 kills and 14 digs, Johnson supplied 24 assists and 10 digs and Plumhoff came through with 19 digs.

Other top contributors for Dimond were Danae Stokes (8 kills) and Gracie Schuller (6 kills, 13 digs).

For Chugiak, Sophie Lestina had 17 digs, Kaitlyn Eastman had two blocks and 10 digs and Claire Schimmacks had 10 digs and 10 assists.

Service 3, East 0

Julia Fetko tallied 23 assists, eight digs and four aces to guide Service to a 25-22, 26-24, 25-15 victory over East.

The Cougars got 13 digs from Chloe Fish, eight kills from Carly Burlington and six kills and nine digs from Grace Wells.

The T-birds lost despite a 14-kill, 12-dig performance from Precilla Fagafaga. Supplementing her effort were Fale Attu (4 aces) and Khadijah Morgan (3 blocks).
